Family |
Spouse: Lydia Lovison and I married in 2004. I was
married once before.
Children: I have a stepson, Jesse (39), and a daughter,
Nicola (29), both by my first marriage.
Jesse is a
free-lance graphic artist who got his training at Langara College's publishing program. He does all manner
of projects designing and producing brochures,
advertisements, etc. for a wide variety of clients from
his home office. He has long time "significant other"
called Bobbi. They are a great couple.
Nicola has a B.A. in art history
from UBC and has thoughts of taking further training,
perhaps to become a family justice counsellor. Her
"significant other", Adam, has just finished at UBC and
has a postdoctoral fellowship in mathematics that he
will be pursuing at UQAM beginning in September. Thus,
he and Nicola will soon be moving to Montreal. They too
are a great couple.
My wonderful kids have given me
endless pleasure and I am very proud of them. I will be
even more pleased if and when they supply me with
grandchildren (but no pressure). |
Hobbies & Fun Things |
Writing, reading, editing, book reviewing, travel,
running, learning to speak and read Italian, and music
(both listening and playing). I have given up the drums
but still play rhythm guitar in a rock band composed of
lawyers (and one judge, me), mostly at charitable
fundraising events. You can see a
2007 video of us performing Joe Jackson's "I'm the
Man" at the Commodore. |
Post-secondary Education |
All at UBC: B.A., psychology (1974); M.A., educational
psychology/special education (1983); LL.B., law (1987). |

children with autism where I began as a behavior
therapist and later held clinical research and
administrative posts)
1984-1987:
time out to attend law school at UBC
1987-2007:
Lawson Lundell LLP (a Vancouver law firm where I
articled and then
practised mainly civil litigation as an associate and
partner)
2007 to present: Provincial Court of

and family cases, and some civil cases) |
